| Introduction to the Business of Screenwriting |
| This course will thoroughly cover the craft of screenwriting and how it is used to effectively tell a story. Sessions will include both screenwriting exercises and script analysis; weekly assignments will include developing dialogue, story structure, "communicating" story elements through visual means, and character development - prepare to work! Scenes from existing films will be thoroughly analyzed to reveal structural elements in the screenwriter's work. At the end of the term, students will pitch a story for a full-length feature film. |
