| Introduction to Managed Health Care |
| This course
gives students a comprehensive overview of basic concepts
of managed health care and the business practices used in
man-aged health care organizations. Some of the topics
covered include the types of managed care organizations;
utilization management of health care services; quality
management, the use of data and reports in medical
management; Medicaid and Medicare managed care; and
operational problems faced by managed care organizations.
A knowledge of medical terminology will be helpful. |
