Introduction to Health Care Organization
 
Designed to give an overview of the health care environment in preparation for a supervisory position. this course focuses on today's health care organization structures. Legislative enactment's that have an impact on health care delivery systems, and the key personnel who make the organization work. Topics include a discussion of private and public hospitals, hospital corporations, Medicaid/Medicare, and private insurance enactment's. The course also covers supervisor duties, the role of the unit management and hospital information systems in the nursing unit, ambulatory care, and the growing necessity for long-term care facilities.
